Small Character Continuous Inkjet (CIJ)

Small character continuous inkjet printing (CIJ) is a non-contact printing method where electrically charged droplets of ink, half the diameter of a human hair, are expelled from a printhead nozzle at a rate of up to 120,000 droplets per second to form a character or pattern.  The non-contact nature of CIJ printing allows coding of irregular products and on high speed lines.  A wide range of conductive inks in many colors and contrasts for CIJ printers allows printing on to most substrates in most production environments.

CIJ printers are used across a host of sectors, from food and beverage, to pharmaceutical and cosmetics, right through to automotive, timber and even biomedical laboratories.

Advantages of the Linx Continuous Inkjet Technology

CIJ printer strengths are their wide range of printing speeds, extensive substrate adhesion compatibility and ease of installation. CIJ printers though require regular maintenance, house keeping and a supply of ink and solvent consumables.

Matthews range of Linx CIJ printers are renowned globally for their ease of use, reliability and low cost of ownership. Linx printers benefit from a unique, robust, sealed printhead which contributes to the reliability of our printers. Linx CIJ printers are at least IP55 rated, and operate without the need for factory air.

CIJ Printers in action

Linx CIJ printers are very easy to use; the auto-flush print-heads also mean nominal downtime and minimal operator intervention, so your production lines keep moving. The print-head is a clean and simple design. Because it’s hermetically sealed, it’s also very robust — ideal for everyday use and perfectly suited to harsh industrial environments.

Linx CIJ printers are very versatile, able to code on either the product itself or end-of-line secondary packaging (such as carton and tray coding). They can also code on a wide variety of sizes, shapes and substrates.

CIJ printers code variable information and ideally print:

The Linx 4900 and 7300 printers can be easily networked in to our iDSnet Packaging Code Management software solution.

Linx 4900 and Linx 7300

Linx 4900
Linx 4900
