Linx 4900

The Linx 4900 continuous inkjet printer (CIJ) is perfectly suited to fast production lines where hygiene is paramount, such as juice, food, dairy and other FMCG-processing lines. Able to print two lines of text and logos at production line speeds of up to 6.25m/s, the Linx 4900 can print onto just about any substrate with the broad range of inks available. The IP55 rating makes the Linx 4900 ideal for wash-down environments. (Also known as the “Ingress Protection” rating, “55” means it’s “dust protected” and impervious to water sprayed by jets).

Advantages of the Linx 4900

• The Linx 4900’s sealed print-head and stainless-steel case mean it doesn’t need any manual adjustments or operator intervention. This removes the risk of damage to critical components, and, because there’s no need to stop or open the printer to refill it, production isn’t disrupted. Ink and solvent refilling are mistake proof and mess free. 
• The self-cleaning print-head and “switch off and walk away” automatic power down are other ways downtime is minimised. These mess-free, trouble-free stops then prepare the printer for a clean, reliable start-up (even after an extended time).
• Running parameters are automatically adjusted and the printer provides clear on-screen diagnostics. Not needing factory air is just one way Linx and Matthews keep ownership costs low.
• Despite that, the printer is far from simplistic. Its intelligent inkjet system controls the print-head temperature, time of flight and ink pressure. That means trouble-free viscosity control and consistent print quality — two more ways the Linx 4900 CIJ printer reduces downtime.

Yet it’s still very easy to use.

The simple, menu-driven user interface has a WYSIWYG (“what you see is what you get”) message display. Operators can create error-free codes by checking the message preview. A 50-message memory store and automatic date creation further minimise the need for operators to edit messages. All of these features help lessen the chance of human error.

The 4900 is available in DC (Dairy Coder) and BC (Beverage Coder) models as well which specifically meet the requirements of the Dairy industry and Beverage industry.
