Beverage
Coding needs in the beverage industry are usually driven by mandatory traceability requirements, date coding and barcoding. Production environments are typically very high speed around the clock and subject to regular wash downs.
Product Identification, Coding, Labelling in Beverage Industry
Small Character Continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers are commonly used in the beverage industry; liked for the legibility and indelibility of their codes on glass and PET primary packs. These printers code multiple lines of text at very high high speeds, making them ideal for high volume, demanding applications.
Bottling plants have wet or humid environments and primary product substrates that are often wet and non-porous. The Linx 4900BC and 7300 BC models have been specifically developed to code on high-speed lines, 24/7, in humid conditions on glass, PET or PLA. Combined with a versatile “sticky” beverage ink (1058), the code penetrates condensation and has superior adherence, giving good print quality with excellent permanence. Bottling is highly competitive, so you need optimum speeds and performance. This bottle coder was developed after discussion with the bottling industry, which highlighted downtime and code quality as key drivers in coder purchases.
Lasers are also used to produce high quality marks on glass and PET bottles. We have label applicators from Avery Dennison and Impresstik as well as Label print & apply solutions from Avery Dennison and FOXIV.
Integrated solution
Not only can we print product identification information, apply labels, we can also ensure the right code goes on the right product at the right time as well as check code presence, label position, label ID, label match using scanners, machine vision and iDSnet.
