Matthews Australasia recognised as finalist in 2026 Most Innovative Companies List

02 November 2026

Matthews Australasia has been recognised as a finalist in the 2026 Financial Review Most Innovative Companies List, presented by KPMG Australia, which celebrates Australian businesses demonstrating innovation, commercial impact and a commitment to shaping the future of their industries. Matthews was named a finalist in the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods category for its iDSnet Package Code Management Software, recognised for its innovative approach to coding, labelling and production-line control.

The recognition highlights Matthews continued investment in Australian-developed software that helps manufacturers automate production processes, reduce coding errors and improve traceability and compliance.

Matthews Australasia CEO Mark Dingley said the finalist recognition reflects the company's focus on delivering practical technology that addresses real manufacturing challenges.

“For us, digital transformation is about helping manufacturers connect their production systems, reduce manual processes and make better use of data across the factory floor. iDSnet has been a key part of that journey, giving manufacturers greater control, visibility and confidence in their coding and labelling operations.”

“Being recognised as a finalist in the 2026 Most Innovative Companies List is a strong acknowledgement of the work our team has done to turn that digital transformation journey into practical, measurable outcomes for manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand.”

Connecting enterprise systems with the production line

Developed by Matthews Australasia, iDSnet is an intelligent package code management platform designed to address a common manufacturing challenge: incorrect product codes and labels caused by manual setup, disconnected equipment and limited validation.

The platform connects enterprise production data with printers, scanners, inspection systems and labellers, enabling manufacturers to automate coding and labelling processes and reduce reliance on manual intervention.

Through its low-code/no-code workflow engine, modular device connectivity and real-time monitoring capabilities, iDSnet transforms factory-floor equipment into connected Industry 4.0 assets.

By linking production information directly to coding and labelling equipment, iDSnet helps ensure the right code is applied to the right product at the right time, while giving manufacturers greater visibility and control across their operations.

This supports faster product changeovers, fewer coding errors, improved traceability and more reliable production processes.

Supporting manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand

iDSnet is now used by more than 400 manufacturing sites across Australia and New Zealand, supporting businesses ranging from multinational organisations to local producers.

Through iDSnet Cloud, more than one million compliant labels have also been generated, helping smaller manufacturers meet retailer requirements and manage coding and labelling compliance.

Beyond improving production efficiency, iDSnet supports responsible manufacturing by helping prevent incorrect codes and labels that can lead to unnecessary product waste, rework and recalls.

Its scalable cloud and on-premises deployment options accommodate different customer security needs, while low-code configuration allows manufacturers to adapt production workflows without extensive specialist programming.

The 2026 Financial Review Most Innovative Companies Awards Dinner was held on Wednesday 21 October 2026, where the finalists and winners across all categories were announced.

Mark extended his congratulations to all organisations recognised in this year's Most Innovative Companies List.

Driving the future of connected manufacturing

Being named a finalist in the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods category marks another important milestone in Matthews Australasia's ongoing innovation journey and its ambition to help shape the future of manufacturing across Australia and New Zealand.
