Business Update
COVID-19 Update from our CEO

08 July 2020

As a significant supplier to many of Australia’s manufacturing businesses, we are always conscious of the health and wellbeing of our people, customers and the community. We are also mindful that our equipment and consumable products are important to our customers in terms of their business continuity.

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we continue to do what we can to maintain a safe working environment for all and all previously outlined health and wellbeing initiatives remain in place.

With the recent developments in Victoria seeing Stage 3 restrictions returning to metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, and with the closure of the NSW-Victorian border, we are monitoring the evolving situation and ensuring plans are in place to minimise any impact to our customers.

Whilst there have been some delays for traffic at state borders, no significant disruption to the supply of equipment or consumables to customers is anticipated due to the new border regulations.

Similarly, we are not anticipating any disruption to customers in relation to servicing of equipment – be this regular CARE visits or corrective maintenance. Our service presence in most states of Australia allows us to continue to provide the services our customers rely on, which are also being augmented by a range of exciting new initiatives around contactless service and support.

These initiatives also include us advancing trials of new IOT platforms that will enhance our ability to provide remote assisted installations and service across our product lines. This, along with our ability to continue to deploy specialist installation resources between those states without border restrictions, gives us confidence that there will again be minimal impact on our ability to deliver new product installation and commissioning despite the ongoing responses to the pandemic.

Our ability to supply products and services remains strong and we continue to work closely with all our suppliers globally to ensure continuity of supply.

Matthews thanks you in advance for your support in these challenging times – it is important we work together to try and mitigate the risks we face from the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on businesses.

Kind regards

Matthews Australia
