Label Printer Applicators (LPA)
A Label Printer Applicator (LPA) prints onto pressure-sensitive labels then automatically applies those labels, via a pneumatic applicator, to an item. The labels can be thermal direct or thermal transfer labels. Thermal direct labels are thermal sensitive while thermal transfer labels use ribbons to transfer the ink onto the labels. Depending on the application, Matthews will suggest the right type of labels for your business.
LPA's differ from “Label Applicators” (LA), which apply pre-printed pressure-sensitive labels onto products.
Label Printer Applicators (LPAs) are used for applying human readable and barcode information to many different products, generally cartons or pallets, but also primary retail products, metal delivery stillages, timber, pipes and steel. Their excellent print quality ensures the barcode labels they print and apply are fully compliant with all GS1 and retailer quality standards.
Software means the easy-to-use LPA can be programmed, without a PC on the production line. Logic programming (such as dates), is just one example.
Integrating and Networking LPAs
Matthews’ LPA’s can be fully networked to our Packaging Code Management system, iDSnet. This means you can then scan or look up a database of product and barcode information, and also control peripheral devices, such as bar-code scanners and weighing scales. Some can print RFID Smart Labels.
Matthews has the Fox IV and Avery ALX ranges of LPA. We are the Australian market leader for barcode print and apply, with well over 1,000 LPA’s installed around Australia.
